St. John's Military School Requirements for Graduation
St. John's Military School offers multiple curriculums:
- State Scholar Curriculum
- Qualified College Admissions Curriculum
- General Education Curriculum
State Scholar Curriculum
Also available is a State Scholar Curriculum which requires a minimum of 28 credits to meet graduation requirements. Students are eligible for Scholars Curriculum diploma only upon completion of following requirements:
- Four units of English language arts to include reading, writing, literature, communication and grammar
- Four units of social science, including U.S. History, U.S. Government, World History, and World Geography or International Relations
- Four units of natural science which must include Chemistry or Physics
- Four units of math to include Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Analytic Geometry, Trigonometry, Advanced Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Functions, or Calculus
- One unit of physical education, which shall include health
- One unit of fine arts which may include art, music, dance, theatre, forensics, and industrial arts
- One unit of computer technology
- Two units of one foreign language
- Seven units of elective credit to complete the 28 credit minimum
Qualified College Admissions Curriculum
A Qualified College Admissions Curriculum requires a minimum of 24 credits to meet graduation requirements. Students are eligible for college preparatory diploma only upon completion of following requirements:
- Four units of English language arts to include reading, writing, literature, communication, and grammar
- Three units of social science, including U.S. History, U.S. Government, World History, and World Geography or International Relations
- Three units of natural science which must include Chemistry or Physics
- Three units of math at or above the level of Algebra 1.
- One unit of physical education, which shall include health
- One unit of fine arts which may include art, music, dance, theatre, forensics, and industrial arts
- One unit of computer technology
- One unit of foreign language
- Seven units of elective credit to complete the 24 credit minimum
General Education Curriculum
A general diploma requires a minimum of 24 credits to meet graduation requirements. Students are eligible for graduation only upon completion of the following requirements:
- Four units of English language arts to include reading, writing, literature, communication, and grammar
- Three units of history and government which includes world history, United States history, United States government, and concepts of economics and geography
- Three units of science which includes physical, biological, and earth and space science concepts. At least one unit as a lab class is required
- Three units of math, including algebraic and geometric concepts
- One unit of physical education, which shall include health
- One unit of fine arts which may include art, music, dance, theatre, forensics, and industrial arts
- One unit of computer technology
- One unit of foreign language
- Seven units of elective credit to complete the 24 credit minimum
